COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course assumes a basic understanding of yoga asana and/or completion of NYTT’s Accessible Asana module. It is intended to take individuals deeper into an exploration of the principles of alignment, inner and outer form of the poses, and how to instruct clearly from the principles of foundation, breath and movement. We will begin exploring variations on the key poses from Accessible Asana, as well as introducing modifications for certain conditions. How to introduce more advanced principles of alignment to take students safely into more demanding poses will also be covered. We will also begin exploring poses at a more organic level, to understand their effects on certain body systems and organs.
